To our surprise the people at Stratton had no problem letting us begin skiing early. Elizabeth just jumped in the air she was so excited. We all found it funny.
Tay and I both knew that we should stick with the bunny hill for now. Everyone ended up deciding to go on the bunny hill. Tay and I got to the top of the hill and stood on our skies looking down. I finally pushed myself and I went flying down the hill. Tay proceeded after me. I was going so fast because I couldn’t stop, suddenly I was getting to the bottom, and I noticed I wasn’t going to be stopping any time soon.
“TAY!!!!!!!!” I yelled as loud as I could. It wasn’t any use since Tay was on the ground smack dab in the middle of the hill. I took a sharp turn and finally stopped...at the entrance of the lodge.
“UGH! I HATE SKIING!!” I yelled loudly as I pushed myself ALL the way back to the bunny hill.
I watched as Zac quickly went down the hill to get Tay and I watched in amazement, Zac was really good.
“Up we go!” Zac yelled picking up Tay.
“Thanks Zaaac!” he yelled going straight down not being able to stop.
“Put your skies towards each other inside!” Zac taught from the top.
Tay was getting closer and closer towards the bottom, and me. He tried what his brother had said, with no success. As he put his skies aimed together inside he quickly tumbled towards me and knocked me clear over. We both sat in a heap. Zac quickly skied down near us, with no difficulty at all. We all looked up at Lynn, Ike, and Liz who were still at the top. Lynn pushed herself slightly, and then came to realize she had NO clue what she was doing, and soon fell two feet from the top. Ike, on the other hand, was wobbly, but made it all the way down. Unfortunately, he ran RIGHT into Zac.
“OW! DAMNIT IKE!” Zac moaned as they both fell right on top of Tay and I.
“Ow! Come on guys! Zac your ski is going into my leg!” I groaned.
Ike and Zac tried getting off, which wasn’t working, “How do I get skies off?” he asked blankly.
“Zac, you idiot, the same way you got them on!” Tay yelled trying to get out of the middle of the pile.
Elizabeth lifted up Lynn and Lynn got down the bunny hill after a few more falls. Elizabeth was great. She maintained perfect speed and came down perfectly, just as Zac did. Lynn was now sitting at the bunny hill with Elizabeth standing over her, they both were laughing hysterically, at Ike, Zac, Tay and I. We all just stayed in the pile at the entrance of the lodge.
“Can you help us?” I yelled, “Instead of laughing?” I smiled.
They both came and got all of us on our feet again. As we got back on the top of the bunny hill, Ike and Elizabeth went together. Elizabeth taught Ike to slow down and they both made it down fine. In fact Ike was really good after Elizabeth showed him a few tips. They both got back on the chair lift. Then, Zac and Lynn went. Lynn didn’t fall going down this time, but still couldn’t stop. She got down the hill much quicker then Zac, even though, Zac had began going down before her. They both stopped at the chair lift, unfortunately, it was the wrong chair lift.
“Hey Zac where are you going?” Tay yelled. Suddenly they both realized they weren’t on the right chair lift.
“Zac! Zac! I can’t do this!” Lynn yelled to him.
“We wanted to go on this one!” Zac called back down to Tay.
“Sure you did!” he laughed.
Tay and I took our time going down the bunny hill once again, and we both still fell one TOO many times. When we got to the bottom Tay popped off his skies and began to throw snow at me.
“Oh yeah?!” I fought.
“Yeah!” he fought back.
I quickly threw off my skies and began throwing as much snow at him as possible. Since Stratton already opened and was becoming very packed Tay and I picked up our skies and headed to the house...so we could finish our snowball fight. My parents saw us out in front and joined in. It was so much fun, and I could tell Tay was REALLY having a good time. He was finally getting away from all the commotion, and was just having a good time, the smile never left his face. We both began to build a snowman and women, that was until Zac and Lynn came running up and bellyflopped on both of them.
“Hey guys why don’t we all go inside for some hot chocolate and to rest up,” my mom suggested, “It’s noon so when you are done you can get back to skiing.” We all agreed and headed inside.
“I’m going up to my room. Follow up after me,” he whispered in my ear.
“I don’t think so slick,” I whispered back.
“Please,” he begged. He got up and walked up the steps, leaving me no choice, not that I was going to say no anyway.
“Hey Tay where are you going?” my father asked.
“Oh, sorry. I am just going to lay down and get some rest before I head back out.”
“OK,” my father smiled. I waited about three minutes and then put my mug down.
“I think I am going to go to the bathroom now,” I smiled standing up.
“Well, we are all heading out, so come join us when you are done,” my mom sighed.
“OK,” I said from the stairs.
Everyone left out the door and Tay ran and carried my up the stairs while I was just in fits of laughter. We got into our room and he shut and locked the door behind us. He gently laid me down on our bed.
“Tay maybe we shouldn’t...” I began.
“Bre, please, please?” he asked.
“But...” I began again.
“No buts,” he smiled.
I threw off my own shirt and knew I shouldn’t be doing this, but it made it all the more fun. Tay started kissing the bottom of my stomach and worked his way up.
“Tay someone will come in here, I said I was just going to the bathroom.”
“Stop worrying,” he said, not being able to breath.
“You really want this don’t you?” I laughed.
“Yes,” he said as he didn’t stop kissing me.
“Then Tay, why don’t we do this later?”
He didn’t answer. He began to rub my back gently and it felt good.
“Where’s Bre and Tay? Well I know where Tay is, but Bre said she was just going to the bathroom.” Lynn sighed.
“I think I know,” Zac smiled.
“Zac they wouldn’t...or would they?” she asked.
“I don’t know, but let’s go see.”
“Zac I don’t know if we should,” she began.
“Oh OK,” he sighed.
I was able to escape his grasp, which felt so incredible. I threw my shirt back on and suited up, as did he. We walked out the door and saw Lynn and Zac.
“I told you,” I whispered to him.
“OK, OK, so you were right,” he whispered back.
“Where were you two?” Zac asked.
“Sorry. I fell asleep and Bre got suited up and then woke me up,” Tay lied.
“Oh OK,” Zac laughed sarcastically rolling his eyes.
“What? You don’t believe us?” I asked.
“Were not THAT stupid!” Lynn laughed.
“Let’s just go. And don’t you DARE say anything you two!” Tay warned.
“Oh so it IS true, so how far?” Zac laughed jumping in front of his brothers path.
“Zac, your starting to get on my nerves,” Tay moaned.
“How far?” Zac asked again closing the house door.
“Ugh! Second! Happy now Zac!” I yelled.
“Bre!” Tay groaned.
“Sorry Tay, it was the only way they would shut up. Plus, at least we aren’t stupid enough to have sex!” I yelled.
“Now you leave that out of this!” Lynn fought back.
“Oh! Did we strike a nerve?” Tay asked jokingly. Everyone just started laughing.
“We’ll shut up,” Lynn sighed.
“Thank you,” Tay stated.
“You know I love you guys, more then I do Ike and Liz, no offense to them,” I said softly.
“Aw, thanks Bre!” Zac smiled pretending to cry.
“No problem. And Lynn you and I are best friends, and that will never change. Zac, you know there is always a special place in my heart for you, but my heart is devoted to Tay,” I smiled.
“Bre, thank you so much,” they said beaming.
“Group hug!” I yelled.
We all hugged each other tight. A tear rolled down my cheek, but nobody noticed and I was glad. I was just so happy I was with these guys. Then we broke into twos. Tay grabbed me tight and Zac grabbed Lynn. Then suddenly, I heard a camera take pictures, many pictures and I saw flashes. There was a photographer behind the bushes, taking pictures of us.
“If you don’t leave, I’ll call the cops!” Tay yelled, “Or something,” he said softly. The man sprinted away.
“Well, that will be everywhere,” he sighed.
“Oh well, Tay, that’s life,” Zac said patting him on the back.
“Yeah, but why?” he asked.
“Cause’ people have, absolutely, NO life!” Lynn laughed.
Tay put his arm around my shoulder. We got to the bottom of the mountain and slipped on our skies and got in line for the ski lift.
“Tay, don’t try to impress me,” he laughed.
“Sorry, sir,” he replied.
“Now don’t you be saying you are sorry, and don’t call me “sir” call me Bill.”
“Thanks Bill,” he smiled widely.
“Your welcome,” he said patting him on the back.
I smiled and felt so good inside, that my parents practically thought of Taylor as a son. When we were done Tay and I and everyone else agreed that it was late and we should all go get some rest. Tay was helping my parents clean up. I knew he wanted to help, so I headed upstairs by myself to listen to music. I put on “Set Adrift On Memories Bliss” by the Backstreet Boys and I began to dance. I slowly moved my feet to the music and it reminded me of my life back in Connecticut, before all this. It also reminded me of Nick. I was tempted to pick up the phone and call, but I knew it wasn't the right time, but I sure wanted to talk to him. I just continued to dance, and smiled, still remembering my life before all this, my dance classes, that I loved so much, and just everything, it felt good. I began to chuckle at myself. I hadn’t danced by myself like I was doing at the moment in the longest time. What I didn’t realize was that the door was opened slightly and Taylor was peering in. I was so caught up in myself that I didn’t even notice Taylor had opened the door all the way. The music was playing softly and he walked up to me.
“Did my heart love till’ now? For swear at sight, for I never saw a true beauty till’ this night,” he recited from Shakespeare.
“Why thank you Romeo,” I laughed. He grabbed me and began to dance with me.
“I love you Taylor,” I whispered in his ear.
“I love you too,” he smiled. We kept dancing, even after the music stopped. I let go and closed the door.
“I will be back, I am just going to take a quick shower.”
“Sure.” After I got out and changed into my flannels and Hanson tee-shirt he took a brush and began brushing my hair.
“Thanks,” I smiled kissing him deeply.
“Welcome,” he smiled back. We both got in the bed and cuddled close together.
“Good-night my love,” he sighed.
“Night, night Tay,” I smiled.
"Hey Frack what's wrong?" Brian asked sitting down next to him.
He just frowned and continued looking out the window, not really wanting to talk to his best friend, but then turned and looked at him.
"It's Bre Frick. She hasn't called, and the only thing I can think about is her, her beautiful face, her amazing voice, her in general. And I know I said I just want to be friends with her, and I am cool with that, cause I mean I can dream can't I? I just want to hear from her and I don't have her number and she hasn't called yet. I just wish she would..." he trailed off.
"Nick you have to remember she is dating Taylor, I mean she is probably busy, but don't give up hope, she will call. I could tell that she wanted to talk to you and I bet you at this same moment she is thinking about you too, maybe not the same way you are her...but she has probably debated calling you. You just have to wait for her, she has a boyfriend and she probably is really thinking about this. Just give it time," Brian smiled patting him on the back.
"Thanks," Nick sighed as Brian walked back to his seat.
Nick looked back out the window and looked at all the beautiful stars and he thought he saw her face made up of stars. A tear fell down his cheek, he missed her. I hope she is thinking of me, he thought hopefully. Little did he know, she was thinking the same exact thing at the same time.
