CHAPTER Thirty-Seven~They Are Catching On To My Game

The next morning I woke up late around 11:00am. When I rolled over and noticed Nick wasn’t there I quickly tensed up. Suddenly, he appeared in the doorway came over and laid near me placing gentle kisses on my lips.

“Hey sleepy head, tired were we?” he smiled.

“Very, where were you?” I asked.

“I woke up to the sound of your beeper AND cell phone going off. All the guys were moaning slash laughing because you left them in the kitchen and they all rushed into the kitchen thinking it was their stuff. When they found out it was yours they all laughed, your real popular,” he kidded, “Anyway, I took a shower and got ready and then since your mom had been calling I called her. I told her everything Bre, she needed to be caught up with your life. Trust me, you’ll love me one day for catching her up, because your mom will one day be the one person in your life. I told her about us, you the girl of my dreams and our plans,” he smiled again.

“Well what did the ‘girl of your dreams’ mom say?” I laughed.

“She agreed and was really happy that we were together actually...I was a little surprised. She kept thanking me for calling and loving you though,” he laughed back.

I pulled him close and just breathed in his beautiful cologne. I couldn’t thank him enough for what he just did, he saved me even more.

“That means she really likes you,” I grinned, “Not something I could’ve said about Tay or any other guy I dated.”

“Speaking of the devil, he called you three times, I didn’t answer the phone and beeped you four,” he laughed hard, “Very persistent.”

“I’ll get around to calling him, anyone else?”

“Yeah,” he got up and gave me my beeper, “Who are those numbers?”

“Liz and Lynn, I’ll call them later,” I grinned, “For now I want to go shower, look half human for when Leigh-Ann comes. Oh and I wanted to tell you this,” I smiled.

“What?” he asked.

I pulled him close and kissed him softly then pulled away and went into the bathroom. He just smiled and walked back into the kitchen.

“So how does it finally feel?” AJ asked patting him on the back.

“Great, I have never been more happy, I really haven’t,” Nick smiled doing a little dance.

“Don’t loose her man, she’s great and after all you went through, I know you won’t. Congratulations, I knew you two would end up together, it was fate, you were just meant to be,” he smiled.

“AJ thanks man, I am so happy. I have never felt this good, really I haven’t. It’s like everything’s perfect and nothing can go wrong,” Nick smiled humming.

“That’s love, isn’t it amazing?” AJ asked.

“Yeah, it really is and so is she,” Nick smiled, “It’s like I want everything for her, I want to give her the world. I just want to make her happy, because then I’m happy.”

“That’s how it works buddy, I wish I could just have it,” AJ sighed walking out of the room.

“If that’s how it works I never want it to stop,” he smiled looking out the window, loving the day at hand. Then he remembered what AJ had said and went to go see where he went.

When he walked into AJ’s room he saw him laying on his bed looking at the ceiling.

“Man, you’ll find her, I promise. I mean you have to just give it time,” Nick sighed sitting near him.

“Nick I have been giving it time for two years, I just feel like giving up,” he sighed heavier.

“If you give up, you WILL never find love. If you don’t, and be the AJ I know you are and look hard for that girl than I know you will find her, please trust me AJ,” Nick smiled.

“I trust you,” AJ smiled sitting back up, “Thanks.”

“Anytime,” Nick sighed standing up and leaving the room, he felt awful for his friend.

Brian waited patiently at the airport for Leigh-Anne's flight to land. It was almost noon and he couldn't control himself, he missed her so badly. He had gotten up five times in the past hour buying coffee that he wasn't drinking, just to waste time. When he finally saw her walk through the gate his heart raced with excitement. He ran as fast as he could and wrapped his arms around her, never wanting to let go.

"Leigh-Anne I love you so much, thank God your here," he smiled kissing her as much as he could.

"I'm glad I'm here too, because I love you Brian."

He just smiled, content with the answer and grabbed her bags in one hand and her hand with the other.

Taylor had been comforting Ike for the past two hours, Bre had never called and he just figured she was just very busy.

"Ike she's no good for you, don't go getting all upset, let things just blow over, trust me," was all he could keep saying.

"No! I can't let things blow over Tay you thought letting things blow over between you and Bre would be best and now she's gone."

"SHUT UP! I don't give a fuck how upset you are, she is NOT gone. She just had to leave early!" Taylor fought.

"Taylor you know just as well as I do that Bre didn't have to leave early! She's probably sneaking around with that Nick Carter she's always talking about," Ike commented.

Taylor stood up enraged that his brother actually thought this.

"FUCK OFF! Listen to me, she is NOT seeing anyone! Bre wouldn't lie to me, OK? She loves me and I love her, we are forever."

"Taylor that's bullshit, and you know it. She's almost 16 and your 15, you have no clue what love is. You and I both know that things between you two have been off!" Ike yelled.

Taylor nor Isaac had any idea why he was saying these things. They both only guessed he was trying to make his problem look small by concocting another one. Suddenly, before Taylor could physically teach Isaac a lesson Lynn and Zac walked in to see what the commotion was. Taylor was shocked to see Lynn.

"What are you doing here? It's Sunday!" Taylor pointed out.

"I decided since things between Liz and Ike were off that I wouldn't go and bother her, plus Bre isn't going to be home until Tuesday, where is she anyway?" she asked.

"No, Bre went to Connecticut Friday night, she had to leave early," he sighed.

"That's funny because when I called her house her mom said she wasn't going to be home until Tuesday," Lynn said looking at Taylor strangely.

Taylor tensed up and Isaac gave him the 'I told you so' look.

I stepped into the kitchen and saw all the guys waiting for Brian to get back with Leigh-Anne’s. When Nick saw me he smiled and wrapped his arms around my waist.

“I missed you,” he grinned kissing me.

“I missed you too.”

We all heard the door open and saw Brian with Leigh-Anne. When she walked in I couldn’t believe how beautiful she was. With her long blonde hair, blue eyes, big chest and tiny waist you could tell she was in Holly-Wood. I didn’t know why Nick wanted someone like me. I was ugly and I knew it. I didn’t seem worthy of him. But Leigh-Anne also looked so nice, someone I would begin to click with easily, even though the obvious age gap between us. They all hugged her and then Nick pulled me close.

“Leigh this is my girlfriend Breanne,” he smiled.

“Hi! I was wondering who you were, I’m Leigh-Anne,” she laughed.

“Hi,” I said shaking her hand, “I’m Breanne, but call me Bre.”

“Wait a minute...you were on Rosie, right? Aren’t you Taylor Hanson’s girlfriend?” she asked, “I mean I don’t want to sound rude, but you’ve been everywhere in the news as Taylor’s girl.”

“It’s a long story but let’s just say I realized that I loved Nick as more then a friend and finally realized what I was missing,” I smiled.

“Ohh, that’s so sweet! Well, I’m so glad to meet you and have you become one of ‘us’,” she laughed.

“Leigh-Anne, Bre is coming with us to the party tomorrow night so maybe you two can go shopping together tomorrow and get to know one another,” Brian suggested. She quickly put her arms around me, “Finally I have a shopping buddy, and a GIRL to talk to about my problems!” she smiled kissing me on the cheek.

For being thirty she sure seemed younger and there was a very strong goodness in her. She seemed like the mom I always wanted, and I knew that I would need her in the future.

“You? I’m glad I have a WOMAN here too! We definitely have to hit the mall or somewhere tomorrow!”

“OK, it’s a shopping date!”

“Well,” Brian said taking Leigh-Anne’s hand, “Leigh and I rented a hotel room and that’s where we’re going to be staying tonight. We’ll be around here tomorrow morning so Leigh can pick up Bre.”

“Ohh, OK,” AJ grinned, “Behave yourself Rok.”

“I always do,” he smiled wickedly.

They waved good-bye.

“It was nice meeting you Bre!” Leigh-Anne yelled as they walked away to the door.

“It was nice to meet you too!” I yelled back.

Taylor had been paging and calling Bre all day but she never called him back or answered her phone. When he called her home in Connecticut her mom said she was out and that she would call him back later. He knew that she was covering for her daughter and he hated not knowing the truth, he hated it so badly. He wanted to yell at Sharon and tell her to tell him where Bre was, but he knew better. Taylor was nervous, upset and scared all at once. He didn’t know what was going on. Worse off, he knew their relationship was drifting and he couldn’t do anything about it. Plus, he was so scared that it was over, and he didn’t know, and the thought of her in another guy’s arms and bed made him tear apart inside. He thought he had their whole relationship under control, obviously he was wrong. He knew that he had been neglecting Bre in a sense, and there was so much he wanted to ask her and tell her, but he couldn’t, he was to scared to show his fear or emotions...he was a guy. He regretted everything he had been doing, and he just wanted to apologize and make everything right.

"Front desk," the woman answered.

"Hello, this is Lynn Pellicano, Zac Hanson's girlfriend. We were wondering if you know what happened to Taylor's girlfriend Breanne Bodie," Lynn said calmly.

She wanted to know what happened to her best friend, she was SO scared. When she called and beeped her Bre never got in touch, this was the only way.

"Why yes, I thought you all knew, I was at the desk that night," the woman said happily.

"What night? What happened?" Lynn asked impatiently.

"Friday night, late that night she left with all her stuff. A tall blonde boy, who I think was Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys came and picked her up."

Lynn felt her heart drop enough for both her and Taylor. She couldn't believe that's where her best friend was.

"Are they staying around here? Do you know their phone number?" Lynn asked begging, with tears in her eyes. She didn't understand why this was hurting so much.

The lady made her day by giving her the number and Lynn got right to work calling.

"Hello?" AJ answered.

"Yes, is Breanne there?" she asked with tears in her throat, guessing she was talking to AJ.

"Who's calling?" he asked slightly disturbed that some girl got this number.

"Lynn Pellicano, her best friend, Zac Hanson's girlfriend," she said sternly.

AJ put his hand over the receiver and mouthed to me that it was Lynn. I quickly shook my head no and held Nick tighter. I was too scared to talk to any of them, I didn't need the backlash that I knew would come.

"I'm sorry but you must have the wrong number because no Breanne lives here," he lied.

"AJ I know who you are! I know she's there not let me talk to her you bastard!" she cried harder.

"She doesn't want to talk to you and now I see why!" he yelled back.

* * *
Lynn couldn't believe what she just heard. She left them, and she didn't even want to talk to her best friend. She didn't know what her or anyone did to Bre that would make her leave, she was so confused. All she knew at the moment was that she wasn't telling Taylor, it would break his heart. The same part of her knew though, that his heart would be broken in time anyway.

* * *
AJ, Kevin, and Howie were going clubbing and invited Nick and I. Like always though, we declined. I was to upset to have fun with a group of people, I just wanted Nick. We laid in his bed in each others arms.

"When do you think I should call them and talk to them, talk to Tay?" I asked.

"When ever you think you can," he sighed pulling me closer, "I love you to death Bre but you can't keep avoiding these people. When you get back to Connecticut you have to set things straight, OK?"

"As long as you sit with me," I smiled.

"Of course," he grinned.

I just placed my head on his bare chest as he ran his fingers through my hair.

"What else is the matter?" he asked soothingly.

I sat up and he did to pulling me closer.

"When I saw Leigh-Anne today I realized how non-Hollywood I was. I mean I look nothing like her, no long blonde hair, or tiny, TINY waist, or big breasts. She's so gorgeous, and I'm so...so ugly," I sighed, "Why do you want me to go out with me? I don't deserve someone like you."

He looked at me and saw the hurt in my eyes, and I saw it in his too.

"Your right, your not pretty or gorgeous, your more than that. I don't care if you don't think your not pretty, gorgeous or Hollywood material, in my eyes you are. Just because your not an actress like Leigh-Anne doesn't mean your not good enough for me. Bre I think I deserve you because everyone knows you, everyone knows you as Taylor Hanson's girlfriend and sometimes I feel the same way. But you know what? It doesn't matter because look where you are, look who's arms your in now...mine. I love you so much, so, SO much Bre."

I just laid back down in his arms, that's all I wanted to hear.

"I love you too Nick. And I'm SO happy to be in these arms," I smiled.

He just kissed me over and over rolling on top of me and placing gentle kisses on my neck and down closer to my chest, then rolled over before he got too carried away. I just placed my head back on his chest. He began to sing, 'I Need You Tonight' softly into my ear. All I could do was whisper the words back. Those were the only words I wanted to say to him.

"I need you tonight, I need you right now, and I know deep within my heart, it doesn't matter if it's wrong or right, cause' I see heaven in your eyes."
