CHAPTER Five- Tree House Fun

I was awakened by Lynn.

“Hey Bre. I am going outside with Zac.”

“Good for you. Now get outta here I am tired,” I laughed, “Make sure to close the door behind you.”

“Sure. Night, night.”

She closed the door quietly and I closed my lazy eyes once again. But before I could get back to dreaming I was once again awakened by a knock at the room door.

“It’s open.” I yelled loudly.

To my surprise Taylor walked in quietly and shut the door behind him. I quickly tried waking myself up. He sat down by me and smiled that innocent smile.

“Hey, how are ya feeling?” he asked.

“So much better actually. Your mom knows her stuff. Why aren’t you outside with the others?”

“Well Zac and Lynn wanted to be alone outside, and I need to talk to you if you don’t mind.” he said picking at the comforter.

“About what?” I asked. Please say you like me, please. I begged in my mind.

“I’m going to be blunt about it. I...I...uh...well let’s see how to put this...um...I like you a lot,” he said turning a little red.

“Uh...uh...” I stuttered.

“God it’s to soon and I feel like such a dork. I’m really sorry,” he mumbled under is breath.

“Don’t feel like a dork. That’s the last thing you should feel like. Because, Tay?”

“Yea?” he said looking up.

“I like you too. I am sorry I stuttered. I just am so surprised someone like you would like me. I am not the super-model type at all.”

“Don’t feel that way. I am normal just like you.” he smiled.

“I know you are.” I said laughing and sitting up in bed, “Zac’s the non-normal one.”

We both began to laugh hysterically.

“Then Bre?”

“Yeah?”

“Will you go to this dance with me on Thursday it’s at the hall down in the center. Like a date?” he asked cautiously.

“A date with you? Of course!!” I screamed softly.

We both got excited and turned a little red.

“Well,” he said.

“Well,” I replied knowing he felt the same way I did.

“I really like you Taylor I always did.”

“The first time I looked in your eyes Bre, I know you were the one I wanted.”

“Really?” I asked.

“Yea.”

Tay was perfect for me. I knew he was. And I knew we were going to last forever. We were inseparable and with a boy that I already loved even though we only met moments ago, it just made me feel weird. But that weird feeling made me feel fireworks inside. I looked into his eyes and he smiled. I felt warm inside. I smiled also.

“Wanna know something?” Tay asked.

“Sure but I don’t think I want anymore surprises for one night.” I laughed.

“It’s not about us.” he laughed.

“Then shoot.”

“Zac really enjoys Lynn’s company. He really likes her. I think they are perfect for each other.”

“Likewise with Lynn.”

“Why don’t we go find them.”

“Why not,” I laughed.

We opened the door and walked through the living room to see Ike and tell him that we are going on a date. He was writing.

“Is that book ever going to end Ike?” Tay asked being a little snooty.

“No,” he said not looking up from his paper.

We both laughed.

“Hey Ike, guess what?” Tay questioned.

“Bre said yes. You two are going on your first date. Good for you. Now please leave me alone, thanks.” he said annoyingly.

“Well fine take all the fun out of it.” Tay moaned.

We both walked into the kitchen to see Diana cooking dinner. It smelt wonderful. All the different foods being cooked was amazing, and the amounts of food she was cooking was enormous!

“Hey mom, can Bre and I go to the dance Thursday night. Like a date?”

She quickly spun around on her feet and smiled. “Awe, how cute! A date, the two of you! Of course. Good luck!”

“Thanks mom,” Tay said sarcastically, “Zac and Lynn are probably going together to.”

“This is so adorable. Puppy love fills this house,” she cooed.

Tay and I exchanged very uneasy glances and left the room. Isaac laid on the coach snickering as we walked out the door.

* * *

“Where do you think they are?” I asked as we walked around the yard. Which was the biggest yard I have ever seen in my life.

“I have a pretty good idea,” Tay snickered.

“Oh, I think I have a hunch too,” I laughed.

His sweaty palm touched mine for the third time that day. This time it felt different though. It wasn’t just a friendly hand hold. It was a loving and caring hand that touched my palm.

“Stop,” Tay whispered.

“What?” I whispered back.

“Have you ever wondered what they might be doing?” he asked.

“They wouldn’t,” I replied.

“Yes they would,” we said together, smiling.

We stopped in front of the ever so famous Hanson tree house that Zac came to love so much.

“I was right,” I said happily.

“Let’s go up,” he said softly.

“But wouldn’t we be invading their privacy if we did?” I replied in a whisper.

“Nah, just come on.”

We climbed up the steps one by one. When we got to the top step we both stood on it. Tay quietly and slowly pulled away the old curtain that acted like a door. We both peered in. They were kissing. Actually we had gotten there just in time. Their lips were about to meet. Slowly they came together in a simple blissful kiss.

“Hey you two lovebirds. Come on dinners ready.”

Lynn and Zac both had looks of embarrassment on their faces. Tay nor I could believe that they had actually kissed. I was just glad that Lynn’s first kiss was with someone she really loved and someone that I knew would love her back just the same. That person being Zac. At that moment I just hoped that my first kiss would be with someone I really cared for and someone that really cared for me back. It made me a tiny bit jealous.

“Zac kissed me,” Lynn said proudly.

“I noticed,” I laughed back, “Was it good?” I whispered in her ear.

“Of course!” she whispered back.

We both began to laugh loud.

“I guess I should tell you guys now that Bre and I told mom about our little date Thursday.”

“You what?!!” Zac yelled.

“Hey! Calm down. She didn’t care. She found it funny actually. God, don’t eat my throat about it.”

“Good,” Zac mumbled under his breath.

As we were walking back Ike came outside.

“Hey! Hurry up!!” He yelled.

“Cool it Ike.” Tay yelled back, “We can only move so fast!”

We all began to laugh. We all looked cute holding hands in the mid-dark summers night. You could tell in Ike’s eyes jealousy was brewing, but he wasn’t letting it get the best of him.
