“It’s all right. You and Lynn really like each other. It’s normal to cry, don’t be embarrassed,” I said sitting down near him on the couch.
“I know, that’s why I don’t want her to go. I should have never asked her to be my girlfriend. I knew this would happen. What if we never see each other again?” he asked in a groggy voice.
“You will, trust me. Maybe it will be every weekend, maybe all the time, but it will all work out in time.”
I took my hand and wiped away his tears then proceeded to give him a hug.
“Thanks, I needed that,” he sniffled.
I nodded my head, “Now go on to her room, she is up and she can give you more of that,” I smiled.
“OK, thanks,” he laughed.
He walked away and I sat down on the tear-wetted couch. Tay came through the hallway. I started running over to him crying.
“It’s all right, we will always be together, don’t cry,” he sighed.
“Easy for you to say. You will have thousands of girls and music to keep you busy. I will always have you on my mind,” I cried louder.
“Stop crying and look at me,” he said lifting up my chin, “I love you. Nothing can ever end or come in the way of that love. You are my girl, forever,” he smiled.
“I love you so much it hurts,” I continued crying.
We kissed. Only this time it was different. I felt a warm sensation run through my body and I knew he did to. His tongue began to wander in my mouth and rubbed against mine, I returned the gesture in his mouth. We pulled away and I looked into his soft reassuring baby-blue eyes.
“Wow, that was different,” he said breathing heavy.
“I love you Tay. Oh, the kiss, sorry I guess I got carried away,” I said blushing.
“No I loved it,” he said smiling.
“You better have,” I laughed.
He pulled me close and we began to engage in the deep meaningful kissing that we were doing before. Just as it began to get good, the phone rang. Tay got up and motioned me to stay where I was. He answered the phone.
“Hello? Hold on.” he said extending his arm giving the phone to me, “Bre, it’s for you. It’s your mom.”
“Hello? Hi mom. What? Really?! Mom what about Lynn? Really? Yes!!!! Oh OK, talk to her parents and then call back. When will we be moving in? Today?! Yes!! I can’t believe it. Your the best!! Love ya, bye!!” I hung up the phone happier then ever. I sat back down near Tay.
“What was that all about? All of a sudden your face just lit up,” he smiled.
“So will everyone else’s when I tell everyone the good news. Gather everyone up Tay,” I screamed.
“OK, calm down!” he laughed.
“Well everyone, you know that house that’s for sale down the street? Well it’s not for sale anymore, my families moving there. I AM MOVING TO TULSA!!!” I yelled as loud as I could. My dad’s job got transferred, and ironically enough it was here! But the best news has yet to come. Lynn..” I trailed off.
“Yeah?” she asked.
“Your gonna live with us if your parents say it’s all right. My mom said your parents felt horrible and their going to try to find a house in Tulsa, but until then you can live with us. Plus, your dad said he would make a lot more money as a contractor in Tulsa then he would in CT. He said that contractors are making mega money here. So he wants to move!!” I yelled.
“YES!!!!!” Everyone screamed.
I looked at Zac. He wasn’t crying anymore, instead he held Lynn in a tight embrace and wouldn’t let her go. His hopes rose as high as the clouds. His dream to be with Lynn was finally unfolding into reality. That was until Isaac brought up a very disappointing topic of discussion. None of us wanted to hear what he was about to say.
“What about tours and stuff? We’re lucky was are home now. We’re never home, we’re always everywhere else. That my friends, is a definite break-up tactic.”
“Never!” Zac screamed.
“No,” Tay replied, “Isaac they are our girlfriends. Isaac we love them.”
“What do you mean?” Ike asked upsettingly.
“They will come with us on every other trip and if they have to they will sit in the front row at concerts. Also, when we go on talk shows, we will have to say we have girlfriends, well not you, but us at least.”
“Won’t that ruin us?” Isaac asked disappointingly. He had already told his brothers that them coming wouldn’t work. But it was two against one, he had no choice.
“No,” Zac sighed, “Isaac, if we loose fans because of this they were never fans, they should care about our music, not if we have girlfriends or not.”
“Fine, then its settled,” Ike complained, “every other trip.”
Lynn and I knew he was getting angry at us. We told them that we were just going to go pack up so we can move right in. We were sure Isaac had a lot of choice words he wanted to tell his brothers, but couldn’t because we were there, we only figured it was best.
“I know. Pinch me, is it real?” I laughed.
“Yeah, I am pretty sure,” she laughed back.
“Did you finish yet Lynn?” I asked.
“Yeah,” she sighed calming down a bit.
“I feel really bad, I don’t think Ike likes us much,” I said still packing.
“Bre, he has to deal. His brothers have their say in what the band does to. It’s two against one,” she fought.
“I know Lynn, but because of us they are annoyed at each other,” I moaned.
“Don’t feel that way Bre. It would happen sooner or later. Let’s just be glad it’s with us, and no one else.”
“Yeah,” I smiled, “ OK I am done. Let’s go!” I laughed marching out of the room.
Lynn and I walked back into the living room.
“Bre your mom called. Lynn can stay,” Diana smiled widely.
Lynn and I grabbed each other screaming and jumping up and down. We couldn’t believe it. Tears streamed down our faces in pure happiness. Tay and Zac began to mimic us and began jumping up and down wildly. Isaac just sat slouched in the love seat with a very annoyed face. When I saw him, my happiness seemed to seep out and sadness fell over me once again.
Tay and I had decided to go for a walk alone. We needed some time to be with each other.
“Listen Bre, about the other night...” Tay began.
“Tay let’s not...” I began before I was interrupted.
“I don’t know what got into me,” he sighed looking down at the sidewalk.
“Tay I don’t care. I love you to much to care.” I laughed.
“All right,” he smiled, “do you think your parents will be coming soon?” he asked.
“I hope,” I said anxiously.
“You know there’s this thing down the street. I wouldn’t call it a carnival but maybe a festival. Do you wanna go?”
“I don’t know Tay, I think I might wanna see our folks. Plus they might wanna see us!”
“Well, all right. After that maybe?” he asked begging, “please?”
“Why do you want to go so bad?” I asked curiously.
“I don’t know, I just do.”
“Fine we’ll go, but I want to see my parents first.”
“Great, don’t worry there’s no rush,” he laughed.
“You confuse me. First you want to go really bad and now there’s no rush,” I laughed pushing him jokingly off the sidewalk.
He fell on the grass and I began to laugh harder. The man’s house sprinklers turned on and Taylor became drenched in water. He ran up to me, “You think that’s funny?” He pushed me into the stream of water.
“Ugh, Tay!” I yelled while laughing.
I loved him so much it hurt. I had so much fun around him. He brought out a side of me I never knew I had. He and I both loved it.
“Peanut!” they yelled back, “why are you all wet?”
“Long story! I am so glad to see you!” I gave them both big hugs.
After I spent time with my parents Diana insisted they spent the night at their house. Zac and Lynn decided to stay home and play video games with Mackie. Tay and I were already off on our night alone.
“Bre?” he asked in a whisper.
“Yeah?”
“I have to tell you something,” he began.
“What?”
“Um...well...we’re....uh... we’re leaving in about two days, on Sunday, we have to go back out on the road,” he sighed.
“What? Already? How could you?” I asked as my heart sank.
“But...” he began. But before he could finish I cut in.
“Tay, maybe I should just not see you anymore. It’s only been a week and already you’re off.”
“And you’re coming if you can,” he smiled.
“What? ”I yelled.
“You and Lynn,” he laughed, “ I tried to tell you before but you wouldn’t let me. Ike voted against it, but it was two against one.”
“Oh my god! I can’t believe this,” I said happily.
I hugged Tay tight. He began to walk but I pulled him back and kissed him deeply. Tonight was going to be great.
“Well now that, that’s off my chest I can do what I wanted to do. Let’s go,” he said mischievously.
“What? Wanted to do what?” I mumbled to myself being very confused.
