“Tay, baby, I didn’t know we were gonna have a wake up call,” I smiled.
“Neither did I,” he sighed.
The press and fans like usual did not waste one second to snatch a picture of us “happy couples” as the news had put it. They waved to their fans and lent them some worn down smiles. Luckily for us we boarded our next flight immediately. The screams died down to a mummer when we were seated on our new plane.
“Sorry about that Bre,” Tay said quietly.
“That’s all right Tay...I don’t mind. Girls hating me and throwing things at me for loving you, it's all worth it,” I smiled.
“I love you, four more hours until were home,” he smiled.
“Yeah, and by then it will only be a little after noon...it’s going slow...” I began.
“Good, cause’ when tour comes for Europe our time together there will be limited, and I want to spend as much time as possible now.”
“Tay, I’ll make time with you in Europe,” I laughed.
“OK, sure Bre,” he laughed back.
“This is it Zac. We’re almost home,” she breathed out deeply.
“Just chill out, we still got time,” he soothed. “We’re gonna get through this I promise,” he said taking his hand in hers. She put her head on his shoulder, “I hope your right.”
“God that didn’t seem long,” I smiled.
“No it really didn’t. Shall we my dear?” he asked taking my hand.
I laughed, “I think we shall.” Getting off the plane in Tulsa was much nicer. Lynn’s parents were there and so was the whole Hanson clan. We had the usual “welcome backs” and “how was it’s?” But after we all got our stuff and were settled in the airport Lynn spoke up.
“Um...Zac and I thought maybe we can all go to um...my house and talk...together.” Lynn suggested.
“Lynn when were you going to ask me? But I think that’s a great idea. Why don’t we all go un-pack and then you all are welcome at our house at let’s say 1:00pm.” Lynn’s mom explained. We all agreed.
“Liz, I am so worried for Zac and Lynn,” I sighed heavily.
“You? I am probably more stressed out then them! I am just praying everything works out.”
“Lets hope so. Now come on...let’s head over there.”
“Zac you better have something damn good to say!” Tay explained throwing his bag down, “DAMN good.”
“Hey Zac! Don’t do anything I wouldn’t!” Ike laughed.
“Ha ha. Come on guys.”
“Well everyone can talk, we haven’t all gotten together to talk in a while,” Lynn lied.
“Well that’s very sweet of you to think like that, Zac too!” she beamed.
“Yeah I know,” Lynn sighed under her breath, “If only it was the truth.”
“What was that dear?” he mom asked.
“Oh nothing...” Lynn trailed off.
“Hi...um...either way I look at it I am going to hurt someone. Well Zac and I are going to hurt someone. The real reason we brought you all here was not to just “talk”...there’s more...a lot more. We have some bad or good news which ever way you want to look at it.,” Lynn stuttered.
“Yeah,” Zac added, “We didn’t mean to do it. We didn’t want this to happen. It’s worse because now we have to tell you guys. But we are ready for what’s coming to us...I guess...” he trailed off.
“Oh Zac, it can’t be THAT bad!” Walker joked.
“Oh yes it can!” I sighed.
“Wait, wait, wait...so you all knew about this? All you kids? And not us adults?” Lynn’s dad asked.
“Well yeah...unfortunately.” Ike sighed.
“Continue,” my mom urged.
“Mom, Dad, Walker and Diana,” Lynn began with the most deathly scared look in her eyes possible, “I am pr...pre...pregnant...with Zac’s child,” she said very slowly.
All the what were once happy smiles diminished into saddened and horrified looks of terror.
“What? Lynn how do you know?” he mother asked.
“Well...I took one of those tests...you know...after Zac and I had un-protected sex...because I knew about the consequences. That was positive. Then I mean now...just look at me...I mean I have been trying to cover it up...but come one....look. Don’t tell me I gained all this weight...plus the morning sickness...” she trailed off again.
“ZACHARY HANSON!! HOW DARE YOU?? YOU ARE A 13 YEAR OLD BOY! TAYLOR, ISSAC IF EITHER OF YOU HAVE HAD ANYTHING CLOSE TO SEX WITH BREANNE OR ELIZABETH SO HELP ME GOD!!” Diana yelled as loud as she could.
“Mom!!! Why are Ike and I in trouble? Zac’s the idiot! He had sex! Lynn’s the one pregnant!!” Taylor yelled back.
“HAVE YOU? HAVE YOU TAYLOR, ISAAC??” she asked again.
“Yes...” they both said quietly, “Not sex, but yes...”
“Breanne Bodie and Elizabeth Burroughs! How could you? What if you got out of hand?” my mother yelled.
“THIS IS WHAT I GET LYNN? THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR LETTING YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND? FOR LETTING YOU GO OUT ALL NIGHT WITH THEM? LETTING YOU GO TO CONNECTICUT AND VERMONT? YOU MUST LOVE HIM LYNN!! OR SO HELP YOU GOD!! AND YOU ZAC! HOW COULD YOU TAKE MY BABY GIRL AWAY FROM ME!?!” her mother yelled louder then ever. “TAYLOR AND ISAAC HOW COULD YOU? YOU PROBABLY INFLUENCED HIM TO DO THIS!” Diana screamed again. Her eyes began to fill with tears, “ZACHARY HANSON!!” she cried, “HOW COULD YOU BE SO IRRESPONSIBLE, SELFISH, DIRTY AND CRUEL?!”
“MOM WHY DO YOU BLAME ME!!??!!” Taylor yelled furiously, “DAMNIT I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING!! BREANNE AND I ARE 15 YEARS OLD!! WE LOVE EACH OTHER! DON’T HATE ME FOR THAT MOM...JUST DON’T!!” he yelled loudly, “YOU KNOW WHAT!? FORGET THIS SHIT!” he yelled running out of the house.
“Breanne if you dare go after him! Don’t you dare young lady!” my father yelled softly.
“Oh get a life!” I yelled running out after Tay. “I HATE YOU ALL!!” I yelled, “I HATE YOU ALL!!”
Lynn stood up and began to walk away.
“LYNN COME BACK HERE!! DON’T GET AWAY FROM ME! I’M CALLING THE DOCTOR!” he mother warned.
Lynn stood by the back door. “I thought you would understand. I thought you would care! I hate this JUST as much as you do!” she slammed the door behind her and Zac went after her. Lynn’s mom walked over to the phone and quickly dialed the doctors number. Ike and Elizabeth sat in each others arms on the couch more stunned then ever as my parents went out to me and Tay.
“Guys come on inside. Bre your father and I want to talk to you about this like adults. And before you say anything...yes you can still go to Europe,” my mom smiled. “We understand that you two love each other and you can get carried away. But what really counts is that you both know where to draw the line. Now come on.” We walked back inside with my parents and sat by Ike and Elizabeth on the couch.
“Now guys, it’s perfectly normal for you guys to think about sex and want to try it out, it comes along with the territory of puberty and hormones, there’s no stopping it. It’s just when we find out that Lynn is pregnant and you guys have been together in that way, well it’s a little scary. Actually, it’s REAL scary. We are not going to stop you guys from going to Europe because we don’t want to pull this love you have apart. Guys, the bottom line is just be careful,” my mom smiled.
“Mom, I give you my promise that we will. Thanks for understanding,” I smiled hugging her tight.
“You guys are welcome, now why don’t y’all stay here with us until everyone is done handling Zac and Lynn.” We all shook our heads in agreement.
“Mom, everyone, I’m sorry we disappointed you all,” Zac sighed shedding a few tears.
“You didn’t disappoint us Zac...your just scaring us,” Diana said softly.
“Lynn today at 2:00pm we are going to the doctors, me, you and Zac,” her mom said. “Lynn I am here for you. Honey I am here. This is just hard for us to handle.”
“We know mom,” Lynn said groggily.
“Well why don’t Walker and I go to the boys. Lynn you are still more then welcome to come to Europe.”
“Thanks Diana,” Lynn said hugging her tight.
“Your welcome.” Diana and Walker walked into the living room.
“We already handled these,” my dad laughed.
“OK,” Walker sighed shaking his head in disbelief.
“OK,” Zac smiled as Lynn walked off with her mom.
“Lynn, I am still going easy on you because there’s always a chance you might not be pregnant,” Lynn’s mom said trying to smile.
“Mom, the odds are of that are slim to none, just to let you know that know,” she sighed. Lynn sat down on the cold waiting table. She felt very uncomfortable and awkward. She hated being there about a very stupid mistake that she made, and knew that she would NEVER EVER make or live down for the rest of her life.
“Hi, I’m Dr. Hallowell,” a young women said walking in and extending her hand. Lynn didn’t raise her hand, she had no intention of shaking.
“Hi,” Lynn said disgustingly.
“You must be Lynn,” the doctor beamed as she stared at her with a stare that was suppose to make her feel better, which it didn’t.
“Yeah, I’m Lynn,” she said quietly.
“Well then, your the “maybe” pregnant 13 year old I have heard so much about,” she laughed.
“Don’t say it like that!” Lynn yelled.
“I’m sorry,” the doctor apologized. “Now I will need you to get undressed and put on this robe. We will run some tests and see what happens.”
“And this must be the “maybe” father,” the doctor smiled. Lynn slowly pulled away and the nurse gasped.
“Zac Hanson...you never told me it was Zac Hanson...” the doctor trailed off.
”Look Doctor. You yourself said everything here will stay confidential no matter what, which means Zac will stay confidential,” Lynn’s mother said sternly.
“Nothing will get to the press...we promise.”
“Thank you.” Lynn sat back down near Zac.
“Lynn it will be all right,” Zac said putting his hand on her shoulder. Lynn just shrugged it off.
“Why? I already know I am...what’s the point for a show?” Lynn asked coldly. They all followed the doctor down the hall and she shut the thick wooden door after they all were seated in the room.
“Lynn, your pregnant,” the doctor said abruptly.
“No,” Lynn’s mom cried, “Please God no.” she said softer, “What now doctor?”
“Lynn and Zac,” the doctor began clasping her hands on her desk, “In a normal situation the couple can choose between keeping the baby or getting an abortion, and 90% of the time they have the child. Both of you will have to understand me, and please don’t get to upset, but...you are forced to have an abortion Lynn. For your own living means, you cannot have this child. Your weight and body is not capable of bearing a child, if you tried there is a 99.9% chance that both you and the baby will die during birth. It’s not possible...I’m sorry,” she sighed.
Lynn’s mother and Lynn broke down. Her mother was upset, but at least she thought her daughter could have a baby to call her own, and now she was deprived from that as well. Lynn was upset for a totally different reason...she was killing a unborn and un-lived child. On the other hand...maybe she would be helping it. She would be able to live and tell others not to make the mistake she did.
“Now. The abortion is a simple procedure that I can have done here. I can have you come in tomorrow at 3:00pm. I suggest that you bring a lot of people you know for support, most people do and it tends to help. This operation is simple Lynn, and nothing to get frightened about. We simply make a small cut on your side and inject fluids that will kill the baby instantly. A few days after the operation I suggest you take it easy, but for the pain walking around will be the best.”
“OK, thank you doctor,” Lynn cried.
“We’ll see you tomorrow,” her mom sighed.
“Lynn baby, I’m going to help you,” her mom said quietly.
“So your not mad at me?” Lynn asked looking up.
“Not mad, just a little shook up,” she smiled.
“Thank you mom,” Lynn said hugging her tight.
“Your welcome sweetie.”
“Great,” she groaned.
“Zac, Tay, Ike, Liz, and Bre. Please go home, it’s late and you all need rest.” I hugged Lynn tight.
“I’ll see ya tomorrow, call me.”
“OK,” she breathed out. Zac went up to her and kissed her softly.
“Good night baby.”
“Night.”
“Are you crazy?” I yelled in a whisper.
“Come on! It’s warm out and it hasn’t rained for weeks, months.”
“You want me to go out there in the rain?”
“No! I want you to sit and stare at me getting wet. Of course,” he laughed.
“Where are we going?” I asked climbing out my window carefully.
“You’ll see.” I was completely out of my window and on the ground as he grabbed my hand. We began to run and become totally soaked.
“I haven’t had this much fun in a long time,” I told him. He jumped into a puddle and got me good.
“Ugh!” I yelled, and then quickly got him back.
“Come on,” he yelled. We ran through a woods type area and ended up in an open field. It was pitch black and we were soaked but the stars lit up the field. We sat down on the wet grass.
“Look up,” he said.
“It’s amazing, all those little stars. How did you find this place?”
“I come here a lot by myself, just to think, but now I wanted to bring you to share it with me.”
He pulled me close and our lips met. The rain fell on our heads and dripped down our faces as our mouths wouldn’t let go. Suddenly he stood up and extended his arm for my hand, “Come on there’s more,” he smiled. We ran more through the field and into more woods. Suddenly to my surprise, a big house was centered in all the wooded area.
“Is this you families?” I asked.
“No. But I always sit on this porch. See its vacant. Who ever lived here just must have disappeared and no one ever found it but me. The funny thing is all the furniture and everything was left, it was left in perfect condition...so in a way...yeah this is my house,” he smiled.
“Wow,” I said in amazement. We stepped onto the porch.
“Wanna go in?” he asked.
“What?”
“Come on...it’s nice.” As we walked in I was in awe. It looked like someone had always been living there. Nothing was dusty and everything looked and smelt great. It even felt new.
“Tay why didn’t you ever tell me about this?” I asked looking around.
“Because I was waiting for the right time...now close your eyes.” I closed them tight and he led me somewhere. It felt warm and smelt nice.
“Open,” he said softly kissing my ear as he talked. We were in a bedroom that was lit by candles. It was beautiful.
“Did you ever think about making out all wet before?” he asked grinning.
“Right now I am,” I smiled deviously.
He placed his lips on mine and laid me down. I loved Taylor and every day he always would surprise me with new things I never knew. For once any thoughts of Nick left my head, I was in love with Taylor and it was real love. But I needed someone to talk to, a friend that wasn't going through what I was, I would call Nick soon. At that moment nothing could have been more perfect....nothing....
