“Doubtfully,” he said yawning.
“What time is that stupid, STUPID, tour today?” I moaned.
“Noon, what fun!” he said sarcastically.
“Ugh! Why can’t Zac and Lynn shut up! They are SO loud!” I yelled.
“No you didn’t! I did!” he fought back.
“Zac you were disqualified in the last round!”
“Exactly, the game had NO right to do that!” he laughed.
She got up and smacked him with a pillow. “You are so not funny.”
He quickly put out his leg and Lynn tripped and fell onto the bed. They both began to laugh.
“We have such a violent relationship!” she laughed.
“Ah! Someone call the police, violence!” he laughed louder.
They both just curled up together on the bed and smiled. Their faces moved closer together and Zac looked into Lynn’s eyes.
“Your eyes are so beautiful. I can see your whole world through them, mine too. They really are the windows to the soul,” he whispered.
She didn’t say a word. She pulled him close and kissed him softly and then deeper.
“If he’s gone when you wake up, please don’t cry. If he’s gone when you wake up please don’t cry and if he’s gone when you wake up please don’t sigh. Don’t look back at this time as a time of heartbreak and distress, count on me, count on me, cause I’ll be with you till’ the end,” he sang softly as he stroked her back with his soft cool hand.
“That’s nice Ike. Thank you,” she said rolling to face him.
“I’m gonna go take a shower now, OK?” If you need me just come get me.”
“OK, hurry up though.”
“I will sweetie.”
He took one last long and loving stare at her face. Though it was swollen and stained with tears that endlessly fell, he still ran his hand gently down her cheek.
“Your so unbelievably beautiful,” he whispered kissing her softly.
She said nothing, just smiled and sighed as she closed her eyes tight. Ike got up and walked into the bathroom shutting the door behind him, as he leaned against it. Once the shower was turned on Isaac began talking to himself as he undressed.
“I sure hope Lizzy’s all right. I mean she can’t handle losing her father, God this is going to be SO hard. No matter what I do I can’t keep her father any more then he can himself,” he sighed, “I’m just so glad she’s mine and I can go through this with her.”
He stepped into the shower letting the steaming hot water beat hard onto his back.
“Ike!” she yelled falling to her knees, “Ike!” she covered her ears with her hands.
He ran out of the shower not even bothering with a towel. He quickly picked her up and held her tight.
“Baby, what happened? What happened? What’s wrong? I’m here please calm down,” he cooed.
“I...I had a bad dream. I...I thought I saw my dad dying in the same room I was having our kid,” she said shaking her head violently, “It was scary and horrible and...”
“Shh,” he said, “Calm down. It was only a bad dream. Nothing happened. Trust me, nothing. I am here and I would never let anything like that happen.”
He laid her shaking cold body back on the bed and laid next to her.
“Are you sure you can keep that from happening?” she asked quietly.
“Yes, I am positively sure,” he said pressing his body closer to hers. She stopped shaking and sat up a little bit.
“Are you OK now?” he asked.
“Still...sha...shaken,” she stuttered.
He pulled the covers up to both of their chins and looked into her eyes.
“I’m here and I’m not going anywhere I promise,” he said stroking her hair gently.
She closed her eyes and fell asleep as Isaac watched her drift into a peaceful state. He kissed her forehead.
“Your not going anywhere Miss,” he whispered, “You need your rest, and a doctor cause’ your burning up.”
The door opened and Ike walked in.
“What can I do for you?” Diana asked pointing to the chain behind her and motioning for him to sit.
“Well actually for Lizzy. Mom I don’t know what to do anymore,” he said putting his head in his hands.
Diana quickly turned around and sat down near him.
“What’s wrong Isaac. What’s happened? Don’t get upset because it won’t help anything.”
“All last night I couldn’t move from the bed because she needed me. She fell asleep crying and woke up crying in my arms as well. All because of her father mostly. Well this morning when I went in to take a shower a few minutes later she was in there on her knees crying and now she has a fever,” Ike sighed.
Diana went silent for a few moments. “You two aren’t going on that tour today. Isaac she is getting herself sick she is so upset. I want you to be with her and not leave her side, just in case anything happens. Give her this medicine for the fever and again at 3:30pm, got it?” she asked.
“Yeah. Thanks mom,” he said as he began to walk out the door.
“Oh and Isaac?” she asked.
“Yeah mom?”
“I am very proud of you. Being able to handle this and all. You must really love her and that speaks highly of you. I love you Isaac."
"I love you to mom. See ya later."
She gave him a hug and then pulled away. He saw a few tears.
"Please mom don't cry," he begged.
"Then you stop crying," she smiled walking into the next room, "Nothing can be fixed with tears, or emotions or confusion. When you have been hurt the only way to get back on your feet is to look at that person. Walk up to them...say nothing and just look. Is that person, that ONE person worth it? Then walk away...you will really know if the tears should continue falling or if you should move on after that."
He just watched her leave and he just shook his head...the tears were so, SO worth it.
I closed the door.
"I am sure there's a good explanation why your brother and Liz couldn't go. Don't get upset, it's really not that big of a deal Tay. Please lets not ruin tonight."
"Trust me, nothing can ruin tonight," he smiled.
"Good, then lets go see Ike and Liz," I continued.
"Guys Lizzy is really sick. I can't talk...sorry. I'm sorry," he said again.
"Let me see her Ike," I said trying to get in the door.
"Not now Bre. You could see her tomorrow. It's only best, please," he begged.
Tears began to well up in my eyes out of fear, "She's my best friend Ike! Now!" I yelled.
Tay held me close, "Ike please let her see Liz, please," Tay begged.
"OK, but I warned you," he said softly.
As I opened the door I didn't know what to expect. Instead of looking straight at the bed I looked at the ground first. I felt Tay's hand on my shoulder.
"Maybe its best if you do see her tomorrow," he said softly.
I still didn't look at Lizzy, "Why Tay, what's so bad?"
He turned me around, "Please, I will talk to you when we get back in our room and get ready."
He led me out of the room, and I turned around as to catch a glimpse. The door closed and I hated myself for not having looked sooner.
“Bre. Ike told me she had a fever and when she took the medicine she went into a seizure from being so upset. The medicine somehow reacted with her and she passed out. It got rid of her fever...and all of her warmth. When we went to see her she was a blueish color and she still wasn’t breathing well...hooked up to a respirator,” he said softly.
Tears streamed down my face. “Tay, she can’t be like this! Why is she doing this to herself?
The only way she will see her father is if she is ALIVE to see him!” I yelled.
“Calm down, she WAS breathing when we went to go see her. She will be fine and nothing will happen,” he said holding me a little tighter. “Do you still want to go out tonight?” he asked.
“Yes. I need to get my mind off this. God, I just hope she will be all right.”
“She will be fine,” he smiled fakely praying in his head that he was right.
“Hey stop!” he laughed.
“OK, Mr. I’m seriously trying to make a perfect moment here!” I laughed.
I walked back over to him and I saw he laid out a blanket and a wide flat velvet box.
“What’s in...?” I began to ask.
He moved my hand away.
“Don’t...touch that yet.”
We leaned over the box and kissed softly.
“Ready for the surprise?” he asked.
“Yeah!” I grinned.
He opened the box in his lap, took something out and put the empty box between us again. He proceeded to throw a little sand at me. Before I could protest he began to talk.
“Here you might need this,” he said as he gave me a Kleenex.
As I took it into my hands I realized that it was the same Kleenex I had taken the first time we met. I decided to plat along, considering the memories were so amazingly sweet.
“Hey!”
Tay looked deeply into my eyes.
“Oh my God, do you know who you are?!” I said in a crazy excited voice.
Enlightened that I was playing along he continued.
“Last time I checked I was Taylor Hanson, but please call me Tay.”
“Wow, thanks for the Kleenex! Now I will never throw this out!”
Both of us stood up and grabbed hands.
“Eww, but you blew your nose in it.”
I pulled him close and we kissed. I moved my hands through his hair and he rubbed his hands down my body. He always wanted sex, always, and now he was finally doing something that was so romantic. Every time that he tried to be romantic, I did find him so special, and I cherished everything we did together, but at the same time I knew that Nick and I do more things, and I have more fun with Nick. Now though, he was being so sweet, so romantic, I never wanted to leave his side and I never wanted to see him go...I loved him TOO much. All thoughts of Nick and the others left my mind...all I cared about was us.
“I don’t remember that happening,” I said out of breath.
“We have grown, so much...so close...” he said.
“So together,” I smiled kissing him. “If you told me not to keep it and I threw it out, then why did you get it from the garbage and keep it?” I asked.
“Because. I realized that you were the first person I ever had feelings for...butterflies for and I knew that meant something. I really liked you...now I realized I loved you and I didn’t want to lose it...you.”
“Tay...I love you so much. I can’t believe you remember what we did or said.”
“I can’t believe you do!”
“How could I forget? That was the most important and life changing times in my life!” I sighed heavily looking at the sky.
He put his hand under my chin and then brushed it around my face kissing me softly.
“I love you Bre. I want you to know you mean the world to me and I will never forget anything we do together...ever.”
“I can’t forget...you have effected me so strongly, you have shaped me.”
He began to put his hands in the back pockets of my shorts and I did the same to him, only I felt something and pulled it out. It was his plane ticket the day we met.
“You didn’t! I kept mine too!” I smiled.
“Yes, of course I kept it.”
He smiled and kissed me deeply. We laid down on the blanket and looked up and the clear starry sky.
“Isn’t it beautiful?” I asked.
“Not as beautiful as you,” he said looking at me.
“Now that..that was lame,” I laughed.
He laughed along with me and we looked into each others eyes. He got on top of me and wrapped the blanket on top of both of us while he kissed my neck.
“How are you?” he asked softly.
“Ike. What is this machine? What’s in me? WHY ARE THERE IV’s IN ME?! What’s going on?!?!” she screamed.
“Calm down, PLEASE calm down,” Ike begged, “When you took the medicine for the fever it effected you somehow and you passed out. The doctors came and hooked you up to all this because you weren’t breathing. Oh Lizzy, God please say you are OK,” he begged not just to her but to God as well.
“Where’s Bre and Lynn? I want to see them!”
“Bre was already here but because you look pretty...well...worn out shall I say Tay and I wouldn’t let her see you, but it was only for the better. Tay and Bre have since gone out and Zac and Lynn have yet to visit.”
“Get me a mirror, please Ike.”
He wished it wouldn’t come to this. “All right, but under one condition.”
“Anything.”
“You cannot get upset or scared at what you see. You will be normal again. The medicine just got you really sick and effected your face, the doctor said it was nothing.”
Elizabeth, being scared at what she would see quickly agreed.
Isaac slowly handed her the mirror. She took it into her hands and looked at her face in horror. What used to be a beautiful flawless complexion was now a pale blue. Her skin was dry like that on her whole body. Her lips were white and her hands were numb, weak. Isaac went to take the mirror but Elizabeth refused. He watched as she stroked her face with more horror then he had ever seen anyone go through before. It didn’t seem like it was real...like it was something from a horror, FAKE movie. She knew she felt cold...but the way she looked made her look colder. Under her eyes black rings formed and her nose was frozen to the touch. Her blue eyes lost all their color and looked white. Around her lips her skin was dry and you could wipe off it was so flaky. She looked...dead. She handed the mirror back to Ike and embraced him tight.
“It’s OK. You are more beautiful then ever. The doctor said by tomorrow you will be back to normal and feel as good as new. I promise Lizzy. For now why don’t you get some rest.”
The words went through one of her ears and out the other.
“I want to talk to Lynn Ike. I want to talk to her now,” she choked out.
“OK, I’ll get her for you.”
“OK.”
As Isaac picked up the phone and dialed their room number a single tear fell down each of their cheeks.
“Tay you asleep?” I asked stroking his blond hair and twisting it around my finger.
“No,” he put his hands under my shirt and rubbed my chest and kissed my lips for what felt like an hour.
“I love you so much,” I breathed out.
“I love you too. Now let me kiss you. Don’t move those lips unless their touching mine,” he laughed.
“OK. Thanks Ike. I know this must be hard.”
“More then hard. But I know she will be just fine.”
“What did mom and dad say?” Zac asked.
“While you guys were gone she stopped breathing and they came and hooked her up to this horrid resperator. Mom watched and cried like she was her own daughter and same with dad. They are just as upset as us.”
Lynn smiled and opened the door. Lynn shut the door behind her and turned around looking at Elizabeth. Inside she was horrified and scared as hell, but she just kept a smile on her face...barely.
“Go ahead. Show what you really think. Lynn don’t lie to me. I know what I look like,” she said coldly.
“I just...wasn’t, well, exactly...” she mumbled.
“You didn’t know I looked this ugly. It’s OK, neither did I. I feel OK, tired as hell but OK. It’s no biggie, really. Grab a chair we can talk.”
“OK, sure,” she said as she placed a chair at the edge of the bed by Lizzy and grabbed a hold on her hand.
“Lynn I know we haven’t talked much and if so our conversations have been breif. I’m sorry abou that. I’d like to make it up to you now.”
“Don’t be. I haven’t minded, I understand that uou have been having a hard time lately,” she said tightening her grasp wondering why Liz was bringing this up.
“So what have you and Zac been up to?”
“Not much.”
“I heard you and him saw Bre and Tay in the pool getting a hard on and then snuck in their room afterwards!”
“Yeah! God was that funny! A little gross...OK way gross but funny! The sad thing is...it’s not big!” Lynn laughed.
“Are you serious? Tay looks like he would have a big dick.”
“Well, no actually. I feel bad for Bre...but I mean it’s big...but you know, not THAT big. She was better off with Nick that night,” she laughed harder as Liz’s mouth hung open, “I’m joking calm down! Anyways, how about Ike? You two are always in here, and never in the action...or are you creating your OWN action in here?!” she laughed.
“Lynn!” Lizzy sighed, “How did you know? Yes Ike has a big dick...happy! Real big..but ya know...he’s a man, you have a boy!”
“Hey! You mean you? Miss I’m a perfect , virgin has had sex and has been bad!”
“Yes! Hot steamy sex every night!” she laughed harder.
They both just smiled.
“You know Liz, I think I will go back with you guys. I mean I haven’t seen like, Caitlin or Marissa in ages! And Rebekah...like everyone! I miss them all so much.”
“Great!” she yawned.
“I think it’s time you went to bed Miss Elizabeth, so I will go now. We’ll talk some more tomorrow. Goodnight,” she said kissing her forehead softly.
Elizabeth didn’t answer...she was already asleep.
