"Huh? Ike’s what's wrong?" Liz questioned.
"Nothings wrong! That's the thing, look!" he handed her the mirror eagerly and she looked at her face.
"Ike I’m all better!" she yelled as she put down the mirror and held him tight. "I’m better, I love you SO much! Lets get ready and spend the day together. Lets go everywhere we can, how about it? It’s Monday, you’ve got a day off, come on, please," she begged.
"I think that’s a great idea. Go take a shower and get ready, then I will," he kissed her gently and nudged her off the bed.
She just smiled.
"You two better head home. Go, get out of here. I wouldn’t want to have to take Taylor Hanson and his girlfriend to jail," he said strongly.
"Sorry officer," I said, "We’ll get out of here. What time is it?"
"Why it’s almost 9:00 in the morning...now go!" he yelled.
His yell woke Tay up and he looked around aimlessly as the cop walked away.
"What? Where?" he questioned.
"Tay get up!" I yelled as loud as I could, screaming a little. I threw all of our belongings into the bag he had brought and grabbed his hand.
"Let me guess. We’re in trouble," he mumbled.
"No. That cop was nice enough to let this one slide. Now come on before we get into more trouble. It’s almost 9:00am and you are damn lucky the hotel isn’t far."
Still amazed that he, ‘Taylor Hanson’ had done something illegal, quickened his pace.
"Hey Zac," she whispered.
"Morning," he yawned, "Today’s Monday and I have plans for us," he said rolling on his side to face Lynn.
"Cool. Well I’m going to take a shower cause it’s almost 9:00am."
"OK, I’ll come," Zac said smiling.
She hit him lightly on the shoulder.
"Don’t fool with me Zac," she laughed.
He just smiled as she walked into the bathroom and closed the door.
"I wasn't fooling," he said softly to himself.
Ever since the abortion he and Lynn hadn't had sex and Zac was upset. Not because he couldn't have sex...he could. He knew he could cheat and find ways to, but that's not what he wanted. He wanted her to show him she cared and loved him, and through sex that could happen, but through other things too.
"God Lynn," he said softly out loud, knowing she couldn't hear, "Eveytime I talk about sex you think it's a joke, but it's not. Why can't you realize I am not joking? Do you not love me? Are you scared of me?" he asked aloud disappointingly. Lynn slipped out of the bathroom looking at him with her hurt eyes...she did hear.
"I’m not scared of you. I’m scared of the consequences at hand," she said crying, "Zac I am sorry if I’m making you upset. I just don’t know what to do anymore. God, look at what a mess I’m making of you. I mean I don’t even believe you and your telling the truth."
He ran over to her and held her close, "We better talk," he sighed.
They sat down on the bed.
"Lynn, you have nothing to be sorry about. I shouldn’t want sex after what happened. I mean you should be scared. You have every right to be scared and I should know that...and I do. I just thought that you dis-liked me or something. I was getting scared you were drifting away from me."
"Zac I love you. I know you meant what you said before. I just pretend you were joking so I could avoid conflict and this conversation. But I can’t pretend forever. Zac, I want to have sex with you. I REALLY want to, but I am just way to scared. Even if we are careful and all. I also know that the only way I will get over this fear is if I do it. I mean I want it so badly."
"I want it too. But I don’t want to pressure you into it."
"Zac I know that you would never do that, trust me."
"I’m sorry Lynn. I know I shouldn’t have been nagging at this topic like I do."
"Don’t be sorry, and trust me, with time we will have sex, trust me."
"I know we will. I’m really glad we talked about this though. It really helped our relationship," he said.
"It also made me feel so much better."
"Good, we can still have our fun today, right?" he asked smiling.
"Definitely, I’ll go get ready."
"We made it. Last night was so much fun and I really enjoyed it," he smiled.
"So did I," I laughed pulling away.
"Good," he whispered as he wrapped his arms around my waist and put his hands in my front pockets.
"Tay I love you. I love you so much, I don’t know what I would do without you."
"I don’t know either," he said as we walked down the hall to our room. "Bre, why don’t we stay in our room today. Watch a movie, ya know, things like that," he grinned.
"I’d like that a lot. I could use a break from this hectic run around."
"You? What about me? I’m the one doing all the running around!" he said standing up for himself.
I laughed and he quickly closed the door to our room.
"Yeah, thanks Diana. I love you," Liz said giving her a hug.
"I love you to sweetie," she said leaving the room.
Elizabeth sat on the bed and rubbed her stomach. She was so sick she totally forgot she might be pregnant. She wondered if something was actually living in there. She didn’t feel any different, or look any different for that matter. Then she thought about how it all works. I wonder if there’s a little boy or girl actually in me. Like growing...moving...thinking I am there mommy. That I love them, which I do, if there was a baby in me. Suddenly it struck her, I want to be a mom. I want to have a kid. Then she thought about Ike. He’s so scared about this pregnancy. For his sake I hope I’m not pregnant. But I would really enjoy it if I was, she smiled and got up. Once again she looked into the mirror and saw her beautiful flawless complexion. She began to jump up and down slightly in satisfaction. Suddenly Ike grabbed her around the waist and she screamed.
"Since when did you come in here?" she asked, "I thought you were in the bathroom," she stuttered.
"I was," he laughed and then kissed her, "Let’s get going."
"OK," she laughed.
"Walker can I talk to you for one second?" Diana asked.
"Sure," he said looking at her and then Avie.
"Daddy...you didn’t answer me," Avie moaned.
"I don’t know yet sweetheart, hold on, let me talk to mom."
"Fine," she grunted.
They walked into the bathroom and shut the door.
"Why don’t we take Jessie, Avie and Mackie out for the day. I mean the whole day, like till seven. I mean the deserve it," Diana suggested.
"Sure, what about Zoe?" he asked.
"One of the boys must be staying home. Whoever is can watch her. They can handle it, trust me."
"OK, sure."
As Diana opened the door she smiled.
"Kids get ready, we’re going out today!" she yelled.
They all smiled and got ready.
"Come in!" I yelled.
She walked in and closed the door.
"Are you two going out today?" she asked.
"No we were..." I began.
Tay quickly covered my mouth and whispered to me, "Never, NEVER say no until you find out what’s going on," he said seriously.
"Oh OK," I laughed.
"It depends," he said slyly.
"Oh Taylor, stop it now. Yes or no," she said sternly.
"Fine, no we aren’t," he moaned, "What’s up?"
"Great!" she yelled happily, "Your other brothers are going out and we wanted to take the little ones out for the day so...you two get to watch Zoe."
"What? Mom...please, not that, anything but that. She’s little," he begged.
"Tay!" I yelled, "Can you excuse us for one second please?" I asked.
"Sure," she said leaving the room.
"Tay C’mon, this will be a great experience for the both of us. For one day we can see how good we are as parents. We’ll be ready for anything that might happen. Plus, it will get me ready to be a sister," I urged.
"But you don’t know Zoe. Bre can’t we just get a doll and pretend we’re parents? I know your motherly instincts are in full force but you don’t know Zoe," he moaned.
"You barely know her either and your her brother. Tay it’s sad but true, you’ve been so busy with work that you haven’t barely been with her. Plus this should be a cinch to you since you have four others to take care of."
"I’ll do it for you," he said giving in, "It’s gonna be so awkward though. Like us with a baby, you know for a whole day. I mean we will have to be parents...together."
"So what’s wrong with that?" I said grabbing him tight.
"Nothing, nothing at all," he smiled leaning down and kissing me.
"I’m so excited, I love you. I’ll go tell Diana we can," I said leaving.
"OK, now here’s the car phone number and beeper number. If you have any problems just call. And here’s a list of all the things you make sure to do to her today and the times," she smiled talking over the crying.
Zac and Lynn came running up to everyone in the hall, Ike and Liz followed. Zac pointed at us and laughed.
"Mom? Can we get a ride from you guys to the center and then we will get rides back home and stuff?" he asked.
"Sure, we already have to bring Ike and Liz to the rent a car place. Now we’ll be back around 7:30pm so you two have the whole day with her. If you want to take her out fine, let’s just not have people get the wrong idea, OK? If your brothers get home early they can help. Well good luck!"
They closed the door and they were gone, Tay stood stunned. That was way to much for him to take in.
"Shh, OK. It’s OK baby," I cooed to Zoe, "Tay please help me I have no clue why she won’t stop crying."
"Sorry, here."
He took her from my arms and began to gently rock her back and forth until she felt asleep. He placed her in her crib and then held me tight.
"Look at this list. Good luck my ass. This is going to be..." he began.
"Fun," I smiled finishing his sentence to my liking.
"I know. You know my brothers AREN’T going to be home early," he stated.
"Good," I sighed.
"Do you need me to rock you?" he asked looking at my tired face.
"Yeah," I smiled.
He kissed me and I laid my head on his shoulder.
"Nine and a half hours in counting," I whispered as I nuzzled his neck. He just sighed and closed his eyes. I did the same.
"Yeah it’s all in the cooler."
"Good," I smiled.
We laid on the bed and I had my head in his lap.
"You know this isn’t so bad. She’s really quite. And..." I began.
Zoe woke up and began crying. Tay and I just looked at each other.
"Tay I’m gonna do this," I sighed as I got up and held her close.
"Tay get me a bottle it’s 11:00am and she’s probably hungry."
He got the bottle and went to give it to me, but missed and it crashed to the floor. Formula went everywhere and she began crying harder and louder then ever.
"Tay her diaper needs to be changed and look at this floor," I stressed.
"Sorry," he sighed.
"That’s OK, just change her diaper while I clean the floor and get another bottle," I sighed.
"Bre can’t you change the diaper," he begged.
"Tay please I have a headache!" I yelled.
"Fine," he said taking Zoe into his arms.
He grabbed a diaper and struggled to change her. Once I finished cleaning up the mess and getting another bottle I went to help him. With the both of us the diaper was finally put on.
"Shh, OK, hey Zoe look it’s me your big brother Tay-Tay and look this is Bre," he smiled.
He held her close to him and looked at her with his big blue eyes. Hers were just as blue. Tay tried giving her the bottle but she refused. Instead he gave her his thumb which she gladly sucked on. He stroked her soft curly blond hair and kissed the top of her head. Watching him me feel so good inside. He would make a great father some day. Tay laid her down on the bed in the middle of us and began to tickle her. I helped and her little body giggled in enjoyment. We both once again tried to feed her and this time succeeded, with only a little getting spit back up. She returned to her deep sleep and placed her in her crib. Tay and I both decided to order lunch.
"Ike where are we going first?" Liz asked pulling her hair away from her face.
"Where do you want to go?" he asked.
"Shopping," they said together.
"I knew it, OK, let’s go," he sighed.
"Zac I hate pictures. Please can we not," she begged.
"How bout' I get some French dude to take a picture of us together," he offered.
"Fine," she moaned, still not thrilled with the idea.
Zac nonchalantly walked up to a woman passing by.
"Hey Mr. French Dude? Can you please take a picture of us?" he asked goofily.
He realized by the look in her eyes when she turned to him, he had made the wrong move.
"Why you disrespectful little brat. Never!" she yelled storming away.
"Oops," Zac whispered.
"Zac, that could get us arrested!" Lynn yelled as she nudged him gently.
That gentle nudge sent Zac butt first into the huge deep fountain. He let out a loud yell and went under.
"Lynn, look at me, I'm soaked!" he yelled coming back up.
"Let me help you out of there," Lynn laughed.
As she bent over the edge to reach out to him he grabbed her hand and soon she too found herself in the murky water.
"Zac, you, YOU!" she tried to think of something to say.
"You what?" he fought back. "YOU pushed me into a fountain? Yeah, I think so, wait let me check. Yeah you did!" he laughed.
"Ugh!" she moaned, "Just let's got outta here. That lady probably already has the cops on us for your first idiotic move which is called DISCRIMINATION and now this!"
Zac sighed, he knew she was right.
"Let's go," he moaned, "We can go rollarblade and get some lunch. It might dry us off."
"Zac we have rollarblades on, we'll get in trouble for that too."
"We already are, so what difference does it make?" he asked slyly.
She just smiled.
"One more meal to go for her," he sighed, "It's such a job."
He turned it up and I sang along eating my food at the same time. I watched the TV set seeing Nick's face appear and a huge, huge grin covered my face. I felt like crying, I missed him so much. I wanted badly to call him, but I knew that there was no possible way without Tay finding out...but I would find a way. I didn’t understand the feelings I had for him. Would I ever tell Tay? Tell him that secretly I had sneaked out to see Nick twice, just as a friend? Inside I shook my head no. It was nothing he needed to know...I thought. It was like I didn’t want to tell anyone, I wanted Nick to be mine, and just mine...which I knew was a very bad thing. For the past few days here I knew I should be thinking so much about Taylor, when really all I could think about was the time I had with Nick. When the video ended he turned off the TV, in disgust at what he saw.
"They are SO ugly, faggy and UGH...nasty," he complained.
"I beg to differ. I think they are nice and cute too," I smiled, defending Nick.
"Yeah, OK whatever. Anyway, speaking of babies, how's your mom?" he asked.
"I don't know, she never called," I said coldly.
"Bre, do you want a sister or brother? I mean cause it doesn't look like it from here," he said softly, contradicting me.
"Of course I do. I'm just still mad at my mom. Tay she made me cut myself and cry and cry because I couldn't be here. Do you know how that makes me feel?" I asked.
"But Bre SHE doesn't know that. She doesn't know she caused you THAT much pain and she never will, or at least not for a long time so you have to move on from that. And it wasn't all her that caused you to do that, you know that. Just because she wouldn't let you go doesn't mean you should hate her forever. Sure she caused you some pain, but look at what she has also done. Look at how much closer she made us. She helped you a lot too," he said.
"Tay your right. I love her and always will. I should call her and apologize, for being so mean to her. Maybe find out how she's doing and stuff."
"I knew you would change your attitude, now pick up that phone," he laughed.
I picked up the phone and dialed my home number. Just as it began to ring Zoe started crying again. I motioned for Tay to do something because she was too loud and he did...he brought her into the bathroom.
"Hello?" my mother answered.
"Hi Mom, it's Bre."
"Oh hi honey," she said softly.
"Mom can we please talk? About the past months and everything?" I asked.
"Yeah I think we should. But first I have some great news," she beamed.
"What is it mom?" I asked.
"Your going to have a little sister!" she said so happily I could practically see her grinning.
My heart stopped, it was one of those feelings that you could quite name, but it felt so good you never wanted to let go of it.
"Mom! I love you so much! I'm so happy!"
I just heard her sigh happily on the other end, I decided to continue.
"Mom, I'm so sorry about the way I've acted towards you. I mean your my mother and I should respect you and God do I. I love you mom and when no one else is there you should be the one I run to. Somehow that just hasn't finished establishing yet, but I can't not let it. I want us to be normal mom and I want us to be best friends. I realized I kinda ruined that and I want to try and regain that with time. I realized that you only helped me. Mom I love you."
I heard her cry softly.
"I want that too honey, and I am so glad that you said that. I got scared that I was loosing the old you and that I could no longer have my daughter, but I realize now that I do and that I love you. With time we will get the friendship, I promise. Well honey I really should be going. I'll talk to you soon, OK?" she asked.
"Yeah, I love you, bye mom."
"I love you, bye Bre."
I hung up the phone and just fell back onto the bed.
"Tay my mom and I just had a major growth and bonding moment. Most of all it feels SO good. I can't stop crying, not because I am sad, or happy. But that I just can't believe that I am finally getting my old mom back and that I am finally starting to have a normal family again. Thanks for telling me to of that," I smiled.
"Your welcome," he grinned.
"Please tell me this mall is good? We've been driving around for an hour," Ike moaned.
"I love it and I loved the last one too, if it hadn't been for those REALLY bitchy fans," she groaned back.
"I'm sorry they hit you and told you off. It pisses me off so much," he said sternly.
"It's OK, you were and you saved me, that’s what matters. I except it and stuff. I mean they love you to and they want me to die and that's cool," she laughed.
He just frowned, he was starting to really hate fame.
"I don't think it's cool, at all. I mean these girls have to learn that, I love you and not them. They aren't my life and they have no right to hurt you like that, words or abuse. I am so pissed right now Lizzy," he moaned pulling into the parking space.
"Don't be Ikey, please, let's have fun," she smiled.
He just smiled and she kissed him on the cheek.
"Is that all I get?" he asked.
"For now," she laughed.
He just looked at her and smiled again.
"Fine," he pouted.
He pulled her close and gave her a warm embrace, not letting go, he wouldn't. The just stood in the middle of the parking lot, looking in each others eyes and hugging. He gently kissed her on the head and she laid her head on his shoulder. Suddenly, a car beeped behind them and they both quickly looked laughing at each other.
"Ike, thanks I needed that," she smiled.
"I needed it to."
Out of the car jumped two girls that looked around the same age as Ike. Elizabeth clearly looked disturbed and pissed off, but she kept a smile on her face as the girls gave her, very nasty glares. It was then that Elizabeth really began to feel the raths of dating a star and the backlash had officially begun.
"Ike we love you!!" they yelled, "Can we have a hug!"
"No sorry guys," he grabbed Lizzy and put her by his side, "I'm taken, but autographs I can do," he offered. Both of the girls gave very, VERY dirty looks at Elizabeth and she got scared.
“Bitch!” one of them yelled, “What the hell do you think your doing with OUR Ikey?”
“Ike, oh my God, you can do so much better then that SLUT!” the other screamed as she went to slap Elizabeth.
Isaac quickly grabbed her hand and pushed the girl away.
“Forget the autographs, neither of you are true Hanson fans, your just the bitches. Now get out of here and don’t you ever try to touch her again!” he yelled.
They both ran away, giving the both of them the finger and screaming ‘slut’ and ‘whore’ to Elizabeth as they drove away.
"Sorry about that," he blushed.
She lifted his chin and kissed him deeply wrapping her arms around his neck.
"About what?" she asked.
"That," he said pointing to the two freakish girls.
"Ike, I couldn't have asked for anything better. I thought for sure you would give them hugs...but your taken. Your taken by the luckiest girl in the world. I was so happy when you said that, it felt so wonderful. Then you go and save me from getting hit, and I could have never asked for anything more, you mean so much to me Ike," she gushed.
They grabbed hands once again and walked to the Mall, heading for lunch first.
"Shall we go in?" Zac asked.
"With our skates?"
"Why not?" he asked again.
"Uh duh, the sign says no skates," she pointed out.
"What are they going to do?" Zac sighed, "Kick us out? Ooo, then we'll find somewhere else to go."
"Fine," Lynn moaned not liking the idea.
They skated in and got in line, then they felt a tap on their backs. To their surprise when the turned around they saw a cop.
"Where you two the kids who were in the fountain? And upset a woman out there?" he asked sternly.
"Yes," they said timidly.
"Do you realize that sign says no skates?" he asked again.
"Yes officer," Lynn sighed giving Zac a very nasty glare.
"Both of you will have to come with me. You have disturbed this center three times. You will have to go down to the station and be bailed out for disruption of the peace, community and for discrimination."
"Do you know who I am?" Zac asked stepping into the car with Lynn already in it.
As the car pulled away the officer spoke.
"Yes, you are the youngest of the Hanson brothers, Zachary. In fact I almost took your brother and his girlfriend this morning. When your parents come I will mention that as well."
A wide grin formed on Zac's face, and Lynn was quick to smack in VERY hard.
"Your such an asshole," she said fiercely.
"I'm sorry," he said softly.
"UGH!" she moaned as she through herself back on her seat.
"Can I help you with drinks?" the waiter asked.
"Sprite please," Liz smiled.
"Coke for me thanks."
The waiter quickly scribbled down their orders. He was sweating, his hair misplaced and was red and hot. He must have been very busy.
"Your Isaac Hanson, correct?" the waiter asked.
"Yes," Ike laughed.
"Excuse me for looking like this. I will be tidied up when I return," he said timidly.
"Don't bother. I'm not special, at least I hope not," Ike laughed along with Lizzy.
"Thank you," the waiter replied walking away.
Isaac stretched his arm across the table and grabbed Elizabeth's hand and smiled warmly in her direction. She grabbed his hand tighter and smiled back showing her wonderful smile, including the braces he had too. He lifted her hand and kissed it softly.
"Thanks for coming with me," Lizzy said calmly.
"No problem, I don't ever want to leave your sight."
"I'll be back, I have to go to the bathroom. Just order me the same as you."
"OK," he smiled.
"I guess someone had to go," I laughed to myself.
Then the idea of a lifetime struck me. I put some ice in one of my hands and watched as he got out of the bathroom and came up to me.
"Watchya' doin'?" he asked.
"This!" I yelled as I stuck my hand down his pants and let the ice go.
To my surprise he said nothing, then I pulled my hand out.
"Cold! COLD!!" he yelled louder, "Hey can you put your hand back in there?" he asked.
I slapped him lightly and gave him an evil eye.
"Later," I whispered.
He quickly wiggled the ice out of his pants and grabbed ice stuffing it down my shirt.
I fell onto the bed because it was so cold.
"Tay!" I yelled, "There’s a piece stuck in my bra! Ah! It's so cold, please get it out, get it out!"
"OK," he grinned.
Suddenly I realized his plan. I pushed him away and did it myself.
"Not so fast slick," I sighed, getting a little irritated by his ideas.
He placed his hands on the sides of my face and he stroked it gently. Moving closer he kissed my eyes, ears, cheeks, forehead, chin, nose and then mouth so lightly I almost couldn't feel it. He had never done something like that to me before. I felt much better and just looked at him, not mad a bit, but realizing how much he really did love me.
"I'm never going to loose you Bre. I love you too much. Your beautiful and your mine, your perfect. Sometimes I wonder how much time God took to make you, I think your an angel in disguise. Your my angel and I love you," he said softly.
I just looked at him with tears in my eyes. What he said made me feel tingly inside and I had never felt such an immense amount of love in my life.
"Please don't cry," he begged.
"You...you just made me feel so good. Thank you, thank you so much. I don't want to loose you either."
"It's going to be OK," Zac was finally able to say to Lynn softly as they walked into the jail cell.
"I hope so," she cried.
The door locked and they both sat. The officer was making them sit in there as part of there punishment until 3:30pm, it was only two in the afternoon at the moment. At 3:30pm he would call Zac's parents. Zac wrapped his arms around Lynn's tiny waist and she leaned her head on his shoulder. Once his arms wrested around her she knew she would be all right, even if they were locked in a cold jail cell dripping wet. They were together and that's what mattered.
"Let's eat," Liz said happily.
He held up his glass and so did she.
"To our everlasting love and commitment," he smiled.
"I can definitely drink to that," she said happily.
As she drank so of her soda she saw something at the bottom of her glass. She fished it out with her spoon and blotted off a necklace on her napkin. It was a little gold heart on a gold chain. But in the gold heart there were, what looked like a hundred little diamonds.
"Do you like it?" he asked.
"Like it? Ike I love it!" she beamed running over and sitting on his lap then kissing him.
"This had to of cost you a fortune. It's beautiful and heavy. Ikey thank you a million trillion times! I love you!"
"I love you too, forever. That is why I got it for you."
He put on her neck.
"Your worth more than that necklace, more than the world. I want you to know Lizzy that I love you."
She grabbed him tight and kissed him over and over, then sat back in her seat.
"And no matter what happens Friday with the baby, I want you to know I am here for you. I am never going to let anything happen to you and if you are pregnant we will do the parent thing together. I want to do everything with you Lizzy," he smiled.
"I love you Ike," she smiled back.
"The layers might help. I'm sorry your so cold, it will all be over soon. I promise," he said kissing her forehead softly.
"But Zac now you don't have a shirt."
"It's OK, I don't need one, you can keep me warm."
Lynn had on two wet shirts, but his had his scent. The scent of him was in-describable. It just made Lynn feel warm and a little bit better.
“I love you Zac."
“I love you too."
The officer quickly broke up their loving moment.
“OK, you two, one phone call, that's it," he said strongly.
Zac and Lynn looked up at each other and smiled warmly. Looks of promise covered both of their faces. The officer unlocked the iron door and they both bolted out.
"This way," the officer motioned.
Both of them followed intently. They saw the phone and Zac never thought he would love a phone the way he did at that moment.
"Zac, call your parents, fast," Lynn blurted.
"I have to call Bre and Tay. I don't have the cell or beeper number."
"Fine, make sure they call," she ordered.
Zac picked up the phone and dialed quickly.
"Hello?" Tay answered.
"Tay it's Zac, hear me out."
"What did you do now?" Tay moaned. Why did he always get put in the middle of things?
"You have to call mom and dad. I did a few bad things and well now, um, me and Lynn are like in a small jail in the police station and I only got one call and I don't know the number to mom and dad," he rambled.
"WHAT?! Fine, you owe me!" Tay yelled hanging up the phone.
Zac hung up the phone and turned around.
"Until someone comes you have to go back in the cell."
They both had looks of fear in their eyes. Zac prayed Tay would pull through.
"I'll tell you in a minute. I need my dad's beeper number."
I quickly handed the number to him and he dialed the number.
"Dad?" Tay asked.
"Tay it's mom what up?" she asked.
"It's Zac and Lynn. Zac did a few wrong things and he got, well, put in jail," Tay trailed off.
"I am not happy at all!" she yelled, "Thank you Taylor good-bye."
He hung up the phone and came and laid back down on the bed with me.
"They never learn," I whispered shaking my head, "And they never will either."
"I mean this is unbelievable!" Diana yelled, "Let's just not get too shouty at that station."
He shook his head in agreement.
"Mommy, why are we going to get Zac and Lynn?" Mackie asked from the backseat.
"Because he has been a bad, bad boy," she said sternly.
As they pulled up to the police station Walker looked in disgust. He didn’t' want to be there. Diana quickly got the kids out of the back and they walked in. Zac and Lynn saw them and quickly stood up and walked to the door of the cell. Diana saw them both, their hair was wet, Lynn wearing two shirts, Zac none and they both were shivering. She wanted to run over and embrace them both, but she stopped herself. No matter how bad her motherly instincts reacted she refused. They deserved their punishment.
"Shall I release them?" the officer asked.
"I think you ca..." Walker began.
"No," Diana said sternly, "Not until we are ready to leave."
Zac and Lynn looked in surprise. Neither one of them thought she would say no. It was then Zac realized he was in REAL big trouble, more than he could imagine. This time he blew it.
"Well, OK then. I just need you to fill out these release forms and the fine will be two hundred dollars on a minor account. Then I have to discuss a few things."
Lynn watched the officer count the bills and go over the form. She felt very ashamed to be in such a predicament.
"Very well," the officer said placing the papers on the desk.
"Before we move on, this must all be kept confidential...for our safety," Walker stated firmly.
"Yes sir."
"Now what else did you need?" Diana asked.
"Well I just wanted to make sure you knew about your middle son," he began.
Looks of confusion came upon both of their faces.
"What? What about Taylor?" Walker asked.
"Well, it seems that he and his girlfriend were also breaking laws. I found them this morning sleeping under a blanket on a vacant beach, doing what I do not know, but guessing from the looks of it...it wasn't allowed in public. I don't know the laws in the U S of A Mr. Hanson but that is illegal here. I just warned them, but after today I just want to make sure you know where all your children are at all times."
Zac smiled widely at the looks of disgust on his parents faces. Taylor never got in trouble...and most of the time, trouble was all he caused. Zac felt very good, in a bad way.
"We are terribly embarrassed and extremely sorry officer. We will talk to the both of them as well. We are sorry again, about all of this," Walker sighed standing up and shaking the officer's hand.
Once Zac and Lynn were released they all walked out to the car silently. The ride home was an eerie silence, and that's how it should've been.
"Get into your room NOW and wait for us to get in there," Walker demanded.
They both dashed to their room and shut the door. Walker and Diana quickly put the little ones in their room and knocked on our room door.
"Come in," Tay yelled.
They walked in and shut the door behind them.
"Sit!" Walker yelled.
Both of us sat at command.
"What were you thinking!" Diana yelled.
"What?" Tay asked
"How could you fall asleep at a beach, together? You are too young to even think about ILLEGAL things like that! Don't you ever, ever, EVER do that again!" Walker screamed.
"Dad we didn't have sex!" Tay said standing up to his father, "Honest," he said softer.
Diana and Walker both exchanged glances and sat near us.
"We're sorry. We just thought you did. I mean 15 is the prime again...then again 13,17 and 16 are too," Diana sighed.
"That's OK," I smiled.
"I think it's best if we still talk though," Diana began.
Tay and I exchanged glances and then held each others hands.
"First of all, no more of sleeping on beaches," Walker sighed, "And not telling us. Something could have happened and we wouldn't have even known. For your safety you have to tell us if you are going out."
"Yes, I don't care if you to were just looking at the stars! Tell us, someone!" Diana laughed.
"But moving away from that topic, I think it's time we talked, even though neither of you want to," Diana said softly.
"Mom, really..." Tay moaned.
"No Taylor. We are going to talk about sex whether you want to or not," she demanded. "In the world the prime age for teens who have sex is about your age, 15 or 16. Both of you fall into that category. Now whether you have had sex or not is not the issue. What matters is the consequences and what can happen. Now I know you both have PLENTY of knowledge about that, thanks to Lynn and Zac. But you have to understand sex is something you cherish, not just something you do every night. You can have sex, and I am sure you both have, with each other or other people. But, I don't think either of you can ever say you have made love. That is something completely different. But maybe I'm wrong," she said looking at both of us.
I looked at Taylor, and it hit me...I never did make love with him. He always wanted sex, and he ALWAYS seemed to want it...why didn't we ever enjoy it to the point of making love? I really missed Nick at the moment and I wished I could call him, right then and tell him what was going on, and tell him, pour my heart out to him. I didn’t feel very good at the moment, reality was finally setting in and I wanted to be with him.
"I understand what you are saying," I began, "Sex is something totally different then making love and I will be honest, I have never made love. I mean I know you can't just have sex and then pop out a kid in the next nine months, I know I wouldn't want that. I wouldn't want a relationship based around sex either," I said directing my view towards Taylor. I was hoping he was understanding were I was getting at, but it didn't seem like he was. I wasn't about to bring it up afterwards either, so I realized things might not change, and that wasn’t a good thing. "Making love and sex are major things."
"I'm very proud of the both of you. I know that you both will feel awkward when I ask you this but please answer. Have either of you, or both of you right now had sex?" she asked.
There was a long silent pause. I didn't want to answer the question, I mean these were his parents.
"Yes, and we have been protected," Taylor said bluntly.
"Well I just want to say congratulations. I am not mad because you both are smart and you are doing everything the way it should be done. But you must understand you both are teens. I'll admit that I really wish you had waited, considering you both are young, but I can't stop that now. Together you will experience changes and will have to tackle not so easy obstacles. Life is a game and you are it's game piece. One wrong move can ruin it, but that same move can teach you one of the best lessons possible. Life isn't fair and it isn't easy. You can't always lean on each other, you may not have each other forever, you will have to learn to do things on your own. But you will experience more physical changes with your bodies maturing, including sex. Even though you may be thinking that you have gone through it all, you will soon realize that you haven't. But so many good things are to come, even if they aren't between the two of you," she hugged us both.
Tears well up in my eyes, I couldn't have said it better myself. That was exactly how I felt, especially the last sentence.
"Thank you," I smiled.
"Come in!" Zac yelled.
Walker and Diana stormed in and slammed the door behind them.
"What were you thinking!" they both yelled.
Zac and Lynn said noting, they just looked down.
"Well! Speak for yourselves!" Diana yelled, "You know, I always stand up for you kids, always! And do you know why? I do, because I never think that you guys would stoop low enough. But I guess I was wrong!" she screamed.
Zac looked up, "I'm sorry. I was a real jerk today, and trust me mom, I am totally embarrassed and disappointed in myself as it is. I was just way hyper and I got way out of line and dragged Lynn in it with me. We're sorry, I'm sorry," he said starting to cry.
"Really Diana, we are. I mean if anyone should be disappointed in us it should be us. I mean we were idiots," Lynn cringed thinking back at the day.
Both Diana and Walker looked at them.
"We're glad you know what you did, that's important. But we just can't let you get off that easy. Unfortunately, as of now I have no clue as of how punishment should go for the four of you, because you have no time for punishment. For now just go to bed, you have Rosie tomorrow so you all have to rest up. Good-night," Walker sighed as they both left the room.
"Ike what are we doing?" Liz asked smiling.
"Shh..." he trailed off as he moved closer to Elizabeth.
She just sat there as their mouths met. Neither of them would let go. Soon they were both laying down in the back of the car. After all the pain they had been going through they needed each other. He kissed her and the kisses got deeper and deeper. He slowly took off her shirt and lowered the straps of her bra, kissing her bare shoulders. Slowly he took it off and began to kiss every inch of her body. She just caved in, like she had so many times before.
"Walker, aren't you a little worried about Ike and Liz? I mean it's getting late."
"Calm down, don't you remember when you were 17?" he asked.
"Sure and I remember you," she smiled.
They kissed gently.
"Their fine," Walker stated.
"Tag! Your it!" she yelled laughing.
"What?" he asked as he saw Liz begin to run.
"Come on big man! Come and get me!" she yelled.
He stood up and went after her. Before long she was hit.
"Now your it!" he laughed.
She quickly tagged him back.
"Hey, no tag backs!" he argued.
"You!" she yelled tackling him to the ground. Before she could say another word she put her warm lips against his, they both smiled.
"Lizzy, when I'm with you I am always having fun, you light up my life. I don't know what I would do without you, I love you," he smiled kissing her back.
"Ike, my father always told me that when his time was to come he would hope I was happy elsewhere and that I would have another man in my life. And he also said that I would know if that boy was worth it if he was kind, loving caring and supportive. It is now I realize that he was describing him in that boy. He was telling me that this boy, he would hop would take his place in my life, for the rest of my life. He also told me that I would know when this boy came along...and he has. He's you Ike. Everytime I look into your eyes I see him."
Ike sat in silence as tears began to fall from Elizabeth's eyes.
"And I just hope that he gets to meet the man that I hope will take him place, because I know he will love you as much as I do," she cried.
He grabbed her tight. He couldn't seem to look at her the same from that moment on. He just stared straight, a few tears falling. Everytime he went to speak he just saw beauty and was lost for words. He felt he was complete.
"Lizzy if I had enough words to say I would, but nothing can compare to how I feel inside now. I love you too."
She just smiled, "Let's head back."
